Child Safety Standards

Last updated: July 14, 2026

These are the child safety standards for ReWave, the ReWave mobile application. They apply to every user and to all content and behavior in the app — in private groups and in public groups alike, including answers, questions, chat messages, profile information and uploaded photos.

ReWave is a place for people to answer a shared question each day. It is not, and will never be, a place where minors are sexualized, exploited or endangered.

Zero tolerance

ReWave has zero tolerance for any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a minor. The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — and any sexualized depiction of a minor, whether photographic, drawn, animated or AI-generated.
  • Grooming — building trust with a minor in order to sexually abuse, exploit or coerce them.
  • Sextortion — threatening to share intimate imagery of a person in order to coerce them.
  • Soliciting, describing, requesting or offering sexual content involving a minor.
  • Any other content or conduct that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a minor.

This applies regardless of intent, and regardless of whether the content is framed as fictional, humorous, artistic or hypothetical.

How we enforce these standards

Automated screening before publication

Answers submitted in public groups are automatically screened before they are published. Content that our systems classify as sexual content involving minors is rejected and deleted — it never becomes visible to other users. We deliberately apply a stricter threshold to this category than to any other.

Automated review of reports

Any answer that is reported in the app — in a public or private group — is additionally classified by an automated AI moderation system. High-confidence violations are hidden immediately, and every report is recorded for human review.

In-app reporting and blocking

Every answer in the app can be reported by any user, directly from the app, including a dedicated category for sexual or inappropriate content. In public groups, users can also blockanother user, which hides that user's content from them.

Human review, with priority

Reported content enters a moderation queue for human review. Reports concerning child safety are treated as the highest priority and are reviewed ahead of all other reports.

Removal and account termination

Where we find a violation of these standards, we remove the violating content, ban the responsible user, and permanently terminate their ReWave account. Users removed for violating our child safety standards are not permitted to return.

Reporting to law enforcement

Where we confirm child sexual abuse material, we report it to the relevant law enforcement authorities and preserve the relevant data as required by law.

We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement and competent authorities in connection with the investigation of child sexual abuse and exploitation.

How to raise a child safety concern

If you encounter content or behavior in ReWave that endangers a minor, please report it immediately. Child safety reports are reviewed with priority.

  • In the app — use the report function on the answer in question and select the reason that fits.
  • By email support@rewave.social. Use this for anything you cannot report from within the app — for example a chat message, a profile photo, or the behavior of a user. Please include enough detail for us to find the content (group, approximate time, and what you saw).

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

Age requirement

ReWave is not directed to children. Users must be at least 13 years old to use ReWave. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13, and where we become aware that an account belongs to a user below the minimum age, we remove it. See our Privacy Policy for details.
